The full form of SOS is the Si Opus Sit. SOS stands for Morse Code in the old days, which is used as an emergency code to signal an emergency. The code signals that the person is in danger and needs immediate help. The SOS distress code is a sequence of three dots, three dashes, and three dots with no spaces.

In the international Morse code, three dots represent the letter S and three dashes represent the letter O. Historically, this code was used by ships to signal distress, later it was associated with “Save our ship or save our souls” to remember the correct letters (SOS ) of the code.
