History of IBM
Charles Ranlett Flint founded The Company as CTR (Computing Tabulating Recording Company) on June 16, 1911. A company that manufactures slate machines, a multinational time registration company and a computational scale company.
Around 1914, Thomas J. Watson, Sr. from the National Cash Register Company he founded the Computing Tabulating Recording Company.
The name of the CTR was changed to IBM in 1924.
IBM introduced the first computer in 1953 (the IBM 701 defense calculator). It was a general-purpose electronic device.
In 1957, IBM created the FORTRAN programming language.
In 1933, IBM and 1935 obtained exclusive rights to an electric typewriter; produced an improved version of the typewriter.
