The full form of CNG is the Compressed Natural Gas. Compressed natural gas is a fuel gas made from natural gas, which is primarily made up of methane (CH4), compressed to less than 1% of its volume at standard atmospheric pressure.
It is stored and distributed in hard containers at a pressure of 20 to 25 MPa (2900 to 3600 psi), usually in a cylindrical or spherical shape.

CNG, also known as compressed natural gas, is an environmentally friendly alternative to gasoline. Manufactured by compressing natural gas (methane) to less than 1% of its volume, CNG fuel is safer than gasoline and diesel because it is non-toxic and does not contaminate groundwater.
